- Term 4 Calendar
Warami,
As our final term commences it is always a pleasure to look back over the year and celebrate our students', school and community successes.
In sport, in the performing arts, in NAPLAN results, especially Year 3, in public speaking, spelling and the various other events Blackwell has participated in, our students have performed with confidence, diligence and team enthusiasm. Celebrations have been numerous and well deserved.
Our P&C have continued to support our school both financially and with volunteers, whenever and wherever needed.
A huge undertaking has been a school based and school run canteen. Many thanks to all who have supported this endeavour. It is pleasing to note that our "Kookaburra's Kitchen" in it's first weeks of operation have exceeded our expectations. We welcome your support and feedback over the coming weeks.
Congratulations to both Ms Kellie Balloch and Mrs Paula Anderson on gaining a permanent Assistant Principal position at Blackwell.
A welcome addition this year has been our involvement with Coles and the Second Bite program. Being able to provide a healthy breakfast to a large number of students is a great way to start the day!
The good news is that our long awaited Before & After school hub is finally being installed along our fence. You will notice temporary fencing now being installed. It is anticipated that we will be operational Term 1 2024.
Congratulations to our recently crowned Dance Sport Champions competing against 13 schools and with numerous individual and team FIRSTS, Blackwell won overall Team Champions.
Finally Term 4 is also filled with anticipation for our new kindergarten enrolments and what this school journey means for those families.
Welcome to Term 4! I look forward to seeing the term unfold and again thank you to our staff, students and families for their continued support.
Proud to be a part of a wonderful StePs learning community.
Yanu!

STUDENTS ARRIVING EARLY OR LATE FOR SCHOOL
Dear Parents / Carers,
We have a significant number of students arriving late and leaving early each day for school. Whilst we understand that some appointments can only be made during school hours, we kindly ask that parents / carers please report to the office to drop off and pick up students.
WHEN STUDENTS ARE LATE ARRIVING TO SCHOOL
We ask that when students are arriving after the 9am bell, they are either accompanied by a parent / carer or have a note explaining their absence.
WHEN STUDENTS ARE LEAVING SCHOOL EARLY
If you are collecting your child prior to the 3pm bell, please present to the office upon arrival. Your child will be called to the office.
Please do not go directly to your child’s classroom to collect them. They need to be signed out with a valid reason for leaving.
If you are sending someone to collect your child early that is NOT listed as an emergency contact, please contact the office prior to advise the details of who will be collecting your child. We will ask for photo identification upon their arrival.
We thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
The Front Office
Parents are able to make online payments to the school for amounts owing for students, via a secure payment page hosted by Westpac. Payments can be made using either a Visa or MasterCard credit or debit card, and can be made via computer. The payment page is accessed from the front page of the schools website by selecting $ Make a payment Button below.
Items that can be paid include the school pack, excursions, creative and practical arts activities (these include choir, drama and dance). There is also a category called ‘Other’ to cover items not covered in the previous headings. Other can be used to make a complete payment of a school invoice.
When you access the $ Make a payment you must enter:
- the students name and class, date of birth
- contact details-full name, phone number and email address
- payment item-other, then description
These details are entered each time you make a payment as student information is not held within the payment system.
This is a secure payment system hosted by Westpac to ensure that your credit/debit card details are captured in a secure manner, these details are not passed back to the school.
You have the ability to check and change any details of the payment before the payment is processed.
Details of the payments are passed daily to the school where they will be receipted against your child’s account. For any enquiries regarding the Online Payment process please contact the School Administration Office.
**PLEASE NOTE** Please do not pay any online payments which should be paid to a third party provider. For Example, School Photographers; P&C Fund-Raising etc. If unsure please call the school to check. CASH Only when paying at the Front Office.
