The final few weeks are creeping closer and we are in final preparation for end of year. Reports are well under way and preparation for the final push is being discussed. Mrs Turnbull has organised our movie da and information regarding presentation day will be finalised soon and detail out to parents. There will be NO TALENT QUEST this year but most other events are being planned. Mr Brown has organised a very successful CARES day here at school with Sick Bay reporting no injuries!!!!
Mrs Krensel also organised our Kinders Wannabees Day which the students enjoyed and loved the opportunity to dress up!!!
It would assist us greatly if appointments could be organised, where possible, out of school time. There seems to be a constant stream of students coming and going which does disrupt teaching time. We have also noticed that on 2 days this week we had over a 100 students absent on both days. Regular attendance is a priority and certainly makes a difference to student achievements.
Please keep following us on Facebook where current information is posted each week. The next few weeks will be busy but as always we will continue to expect all students to demonstrate Good Manners, Good Thinking and Good Learning.
Please remember Archer in your thoughts, and his family, as he continues to fight this terrible battle.
On a positive note we welcome Noah Thomas Grima born 13/11/2020. Both parents doing well!
If your child/children are not returning to Blackwell in 2021, could you please notify the office in writing. Please inform us where you are transferring to, your new address etc for our records.
If you are travelling on holidays, interstate or overseas, and will not be here for the commencement of the 2021 school year which commences Friday, 29th January 2021 could you please advise the school in writing, so that a place will be held for your child upon return to school in 2021.
If you have a child due to start school who is turning 5 on or before 31st July 2021, or know of someone with a school aged child living in the area, please let them know that they can come and collect an enrolment form from our front office and when completed it can be returned to our office with:
- Original Birth certificate
- Current Immunisation certificate
- Proof of Address - 100 points ID (eg Utility Bill, Rental Agreement or Council Rates)

How time flies! Already Week 6.
OC testing for Year 5 2021 completed today. Results will be sent to parents before the end of the year.
Science Show was a success. Our performer Heidi ranks Blackwell at the top of her top 10 schools to visit. We enjoy having her come as we love to see her amazing tricks with hoops, lights as well as helping students to understand some science concepts. We have booked her for 2021 for another show.
CARES Day for Year 4 showed the students safety and care in riding bikes. Our students really enjoyed the day and it was great to see the smile on all their faces.
All photos have been distributed. Any more photos can be ordered online through the Advanced Photographer, this includes group photos.
Stepping Up Day for students going into new stages for 2021 will happen in Week 8 so students can acquaint themselves with new areas.
Reports to go home in Week 9.
Presentation Day will go ahead with the students only. We are limited with the time we can spend together and with our space. Photos of the students receiving awards will be available, just like we do the PAWs awards.
Please ensure that your child arrives at school before 9.00am. Lessons begin at this time and will do so until the end of the year. “Every minute counts” when learning and teaching at Blackwell.
Many students miss good learning time when they arrive late or are taken out of school early for no particular reason.
As the year ends, students get excited, however our expectations of Good Manners, Good Thinking, Good Learning still applies. Respect of others and pride in our school and ourselves is still expected. I hope that this can be supported by you, the parents with this mind frame when talking about school.
Enjoy the final weeks of our school year.
Mrs Wilson

KIDS PANTRY CANTEEN
Hello Parents and Carers,
As most of you are aware, we have been experiencing difficulties with My School Connect over the last few Fridays. This is due to My School Connect upgrading their systems to better handle the traffic that occurs on a Friday. Friday is our busiest day and we acknowledge your frustration when you are unable to place an order. Unfortunately, this is out of our hands and we cannot help the system defects, as it’s actually down for us as well!
From now and until further notice, FRIDAY CUT OFF TIME FOR ONLINE LUNCH ORDERS WILL BE 8AM. We find that My School Connect works best before 8am on Friday although we highly recommend placing student lunch orders THURSDAY NIGHT if you are wanting to place your ordering online. Alternatively, you can place orders over the counter. Unfortunately, we will not be able to take IOU orders on Friday due to the amount of orders that need to be prepared and made.
We appreciate everyone for reaching out to us via our Facebook page for help and encourage others to do so as well if you’re needing assistance. When contacting us via Facebook you are contacting the owners of Kids Pantry Canteens directly. This way we can better assist you and get in touch with the canteens promptly. Thank you all for your patience over the last couple of weeks and we hope this small change will avoid further issues moving forward.
Thank you,
Kids Pantry Canteens
Lunch orders can be made at school or online
